The Ranch
Our
Story
McGinnis Meadows Cattle & Guest Ranch is situated along a wide-open meadow at 3,300 feet elevation with a year-round creek, surrounded by tall timbered mountains. Resident elk and deer can regularly be seen on the ranch as well as the occasional moose passing through. Homesteaded in the 1890s by the Davis family, you’ll find remnants of the past, such as their original house site, the later used “Davis Place,” and the “Old Orr Place.” Cattle later moved into the valley in the 1920’s. Still used today are little log houses from the original homesteads nestled along the edges of the tree line and meadow.

With their love of riding and carrying on the Buck Brannaman style of horsemanship, Shayne and former wife, Jo-Anne established the guest ranch in 1998. Riding is our main focus with a strong emphasis on horsemanship, be it in the arena, on the trail, driving cattle in the mountains, or working cattle here at home. Guests leave here better riders with plenty of tools they can take home with them for their own horses and in their own lives.
Guests can expect to experience inspiring teaching, educated horses, top quality instruction, engaging activities, beautiful scenery & so much more!
