Our Season Schedule with Rates

Peak Season at the Ranch

June 4th to October 7th, 2017

Along with Buck Brannaman clinic style horsemanship, cattle working and exploring country join us in our season long cattle work and cattle drives! Enjoy riding in and exploring NEW COUNTRY in our new 40 square miles of timbered country and meadow land. Those who are looking to cover lots of country will not be disappointed! Move and drive cattle in the timbered mountains surrounding the ranch and learn how to track and find cattle.

McGinnis Meadows Ranch is very conscientious about proper land management and you'll take a big part in it. There's a part for all levels of riders to participate in. Ride the drag to push cattle, ride the flanks to keep those boys in line

Buck Brannaman Ranch Clinics
Jul 16-22nd and 23-29th, Buck will be returning to the ranch to teach his horsemanship & Cattle working clinics. These clinics are currently full but you can email Janice at info@mmgranch.net to be put on a wait list. For more information about Buck Brannaman clinics, visit brannaman.com.

Our main agenda at this time is gathering cattle off of their summer pastures as well as weighing and shipping cattle.

Lodge Room:

The meal plan for Peak Season includes a full breakfast,  Sandwich fixins, chips, snacks and drinks to make your sack lunch, Family style sit down dinner with salad bar, beer and wine, and daily housekeeping service

We reserve the right to switch cabins based on accommodation needs.

Off Peak Fall Season

October 8th to 28th, 2017

These weeks are all about cattle!

The fall colors are brilliant at this time and the air is crisp. We will be spending a lot of time re-riding for stray cattle in the mountains, as well as shipping out cattle at home. In addition, we’ll be checking on and moving cattle on the mountains around the ranch. Of course we still offer horsemanship and leisurely rides too at this time.

**There are no housekeeping services during the week. 

**Continental breakfast will be served each morning.  Sandwich fixins, chips and snacks are available for a sack lunch and a dinner meal will be served at 6:00pm.

Winter Horsemanship Program

Starting Oct 29, 2017 thru April 14, 2018

Looking to escape the winter blues? Come to McGinnis this winter! Take advantage of low guest counts, great rates and best of all - lots of personalized one-on-one instruction from the ground up!

We will take an average of five guests per week.
There are no housekeeping services during the week.

A continental breakfast will be available each morning.

A dinner like meal will be provided at lunch time.

The kitchen is stocked for dinners and the cookie jar is always full!

Each day guests work on horsemanship from the ground up in our indoor heated arena. The teaching is very focused and each session builds on the last. We might even have you roping by week's end!
Beginners to experienced riders are encouraged to come. Whether learning something new or refining something old, our horsemanship weeks offer plenty for everyone!

*We do require that our winter guests speak fluent English as there is a lot of instruction.

Spring Program I

Horsemanship Weeks

April 22 - 28th, 2018

Buck Brannaman Horsemanship from the ground up using our horses or you can bring your own - All levels of riders are welcome. Clinic style instruction daily. A great time for fine tuning your riding skills with our experienced horsemen & women.

Spring Program II

Horsemanship and Cattle Weeks

April 29 to May 12, 2018

Early May is still great for spring-tune ups! Buck Brannaman Horsemanship will continue to be the focus along with additional options of roping and branding, which will still be going on at this time. Guests are welcome to participate if they’d like! There will be lots of work weighing branded cattle and moving them to new pastures, so you don’t have to be ropey to join in! Clinic style instruction daily.

These weeks are perfect for those who want to bring their own horse and get it ready for the summer!   Expose your horse to as much or as little as you prefer and we’ll work with you every step of the way to make both of you a success!  Can’t bring your own horse?  Ride one of ours and take all of your knowledge home with you!

May 13 - June 2, 2018

Click for 2018 Rates & Weeks Intensive Buck Brannaman style horsemanship from the ground up using our horses or you can bring your own—all levels of riders are welcome. Clinic style instruction daily. We will also be putting all of our horsemanship to use in working cattle each week. There may be some more branding to finish up at this time as well. In addition, we will begin turning out our herd on our new grazing allotment surrounding the ranch.

The meal plan will be the same as Spring Program I

Buck Brannaman Ranch Clinics

Click for 2018 Rates & Weeks Jul 15-21st and 22nd - 28th, (tentative dates) Buck will be returning to the ranch to teach his horsemanship & Cattle working clinics. Space is limited! We will have confirmation of dates in early fall 2017 and will begin accepting reservations at that time. We cannot accept reservations for Buck weeks prior to this.

Each week for 3 full days, Buck will cover Horsemanship 1 in the mornings, and Cattle Working in the afternoons. Two full days are with us either working on horsemanship, trail rides, cattle working, or moving cattle on summer range.

Ride one of our horses or bring your own-we’ll provide space for you horse at no extra cost if you bring your own hay, or for a small additional cost if we provide hay.

Full week only Sunday through Saturday
Ranch lodging only.

WEIGHT LIMIT FOR RIDERS is 200lbs. This is for the safety and comfort of guests and horses. Contact us for potential exceptions.

RESERVATIONS: To confirm your stay, we require a $500.00 per person deposit payable by check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.

PAYMENT & CANCELLATION POLICY:

Winter horsemanship season:
  • $500 deposit to secure your spot. All deposits and payments are non refundable and non transferable. Balance in full within 60 days of reservation booking is required to keep your spot.
  • Travel Insurance is highly recommended. Normally this must be purchased 24- 48 hours after booking- please check with your provider.
Peak season:
  • $500 deposit to secure your spot. All deposits and payments are non refundable and non transferable.
  • Balance in full within 90 days of reservation booking is required to keep your spot.
  • Reservations made after February 1st require a 60% initial deposit.
  • All deposits and payments are non refundable and non transferable. No exceptions, so please don’t ask.

OUR DAILY SCHEDULE DURING PEAK SEASON:

Breakfast is served daily at 8:00 am, lunch whenever we stop, hors d' oeuvres at 5:30 pm, and dinner at 6:00 pm.

Sunday: Check in is at 3 pm. Settle in, get acquainted and meet the crew. Orientation is at 5:00 pm on the week's activities and to learn your expectations too.

Monday: We’ll see you at 8:00 am for breakfast. At 8:45 am we’ll meet you out by the horses and you’ll meet your assigned horse. We work with you individually to adjust your saddle, and to learn this style of riding. We take all the time necessary to ensure you are comfortable with your horse, and you learn all the skills for a great week of working cattle, improving your riding skills, and enjoying the country.

Tuesday - Friday: We are flexible. There may be CATTLE DRIVES on Summer Range, cattle working here at the ranch, Buck Brannaman CLINIC style horsemanship from the ground up, rides out exploring new country, and roping lessons starting from the ground.

Saturday: Leisurely breakfast at 8:00 am, group photos, and we never say good-bye! It's "Till next time!" Shuttle to Kalispell takes off between 9:00 and 9:30 am. Please try to schedule your flight home any time after 11:00 am.

For those bringing horses to the ranch for training or for a week’s stay at the Ranch

Owners will be required to show proof of a coggins and well as documentation that shows the horse has been vaccinated for Influenza and Rhino within the previous 2 months. Your attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.
